If you want to buy domain names, Namecheap is one of the best domain registrars.
Namecheap also provides other services besides domain registration. It provides web hosting, VPS hosting, website builder, CDN, VPN, etc.
If you are looking to buy affordable web hosting, Namecheap can be an option for you. Here is a Namecheap Hosting review to get you started.
Namecheap Hosting Review
I bought the Stellar plan & tested it to check its speed, uptime & how many users it can handle at once. The results are quite good. First, let’s take a look at the plans provided by Namecheap.
Namecheap offers three shared hosting plans – Stellar, Stellar Plus & Stellar Business. The third one is hosted on cloud servers that offer more speed.
In all the plans, you get unmetered bandwidth, free website builder, free automatic SSL installation & 30 days money-back guarantee.
Here is a comparison between the plans –
|Features||Stellar||Stellar Plus||Stellar Business|
|Disk Space (SSD)||20 GB||Unmetered||50 GB|
|Backups||Twice a week||Twice a week + Autobackup||Twice a week + Autobackup|
|Physical Memory||1 GB||2 GB||2 GB|
|BUY NOW||BUY NOW||BUY NOW|
The servers are located in the United States. If you want to host your website in the UK, you need to pay $1/month extra.
EasyWP is Namecheap’s managed WordPress hosting that offers three plans – Starter, Turbo & Supersonic. All these are hosted on cloud servers.
If you want to check the speed, uptime & load test of these plans, read the EasyWP Review here.
There are three reseller hosting plans – Nebula, Galaxy Expert & Universe Pro. You can buy any of these plans to host different websites of clients.
There are only two VPS plans – Pulsar & Quasar. You can install Cpanel or Interworx on your VPS server. You get full root access, a money-back guarantee & super security.
Stellar Plan Tests
Let’s get to the results of the tests that I conducted on the Stellar plan.
Namecheap hosting in terms of uptime is a bit down. The uptime for 30 days was 99.95% which is not good. If your website receives daily users all the time, Namecheap is not for you.
If your major audience is from the US, you can use this hosting. The response time is good in the US & Canada. If your website’s visitors are mainly outside of the US, you need to reconsider.
As you get SSD-based hosting, there is no compromise in website speed. A default WordPress website loads in just 0.9 sec. If you want speed, Namecheap hosting is for you.
I sent 20 users for 2 min on the test website. The hosting handled this easily getting only 2 requests failure. This test was done without a cache plugin.
Namecheap Hosting Features
Let’s take a look at some of the best features of Namecheap.
Free Website Builder
Namecheap offers a free website builder with its web hosting plans. The website builder is an easy way to build a website as it requires no coding, just drag & drop the elements to create a web page.
It offers 200+ premade design templates to choose from, moving your existing website for editing, a simple drag and drop interface & responsive design.
This tool by Namecheap creates a backup of your website at regular intervals. Not only do all your websites get backed up, but also your account files, databases, email accounts, settings, and more.
This tool is available for free on Stellar us & Business plans. It supports automatic backups & restores, access to backup history & unlimited backup storage space.
They provide ticket & live chat support which is quite good. I tried their live chat & got a reply within 30 sec. Pretty quick right?
You get free website migration with their hosting plans. They guarantee that your website will be migrated within 24 hours with no more than 15 minutes of downtime.
If they do not meet this guarantee, or if you are not completely satisfied with how your migration was managed, they will credit your account with the value of your first purchase of shared hosting with Namecheap.
Namecheap offers 30 days money-back guarantee on its shared hosting plans. If you are not happy, you can ask them for a full refund within 30 days of your purchase.

Do I Recommend Namecheap Hosting?
Yes & No. Namecheap is the best for domain registrations, but their hosting services are good for beginners or for people who have a low budget. Their hosting plans are budget-friendly.
As tested, the uptime was not quite good. You will get better uptime (up to 100%) on other hosting providers. Hence, if you are new to blogging or starting a website to try out, you can go with Namecheap.
In terms of hosting by price, Hostinger is a good alternative to Namecheap as they have similar pricing. Hostinger is one of the popular & recommended web hostings. Even this blog is hosted on Hostinger.
Another good alternative can be Interserver. Interserver offers its standard plan at just $5/month in which you get all the important features that are needed to run a website.
So, this was the Namecheap Hosting review for you to decide your choice. If you want good uptime, this hosting is definitely not for you. If you want more speed, you may consider buying Namecheap hosting.
